On September 20, 2013 and October 6-9, 2013, American artist Steve Lambert invited the public to engage with one of the 21st century's most discussed hot topics by voting True or False to the phrase "Capitalism works for me!" Set amidst the bustle of Times Square in the form of a massive, attention-grabbing, illuminated scoreboard, the piece created the ultimate public forum for one of today's most complicated and important issues."In the United States, starting a conversation about Capitalism throws red flags. Simultaneously, capitalism is discussed daily in euphemisms like 'jobs,' 'the business climate' and whatever 'crisis' is deemed relevant. It creates a space where new ideas and perspectives can be explored. A space unlike any other." - Steve LambertDuring the hours of operation, artist Steve Lambert and his team asked participants to vote in relation to this statement: 'Capitalism Works for Me: True or False.' Lambert and his team warmed up participants with a few simple questions prior to voting. Responses were captured on video and shared online at visitsteve.com.Read Lambert's Is Capitalism Working for You?
