Local/ExpressApril 1, 2014 - April 30, 2014Tribeca Film Fellows, View All ProjectsTimes Square Advertising Coalition, Tribeca Film InstituteLocal/Express was an excerpt from a short film conceptualized and produced by group of diverse students - aged 16-18 - from all boroughs of the city, participants in the Tribeca Film Institute's 2014 Tribeca Film Fellows program. The film explored transit as a universal experience that connects a vast array of cultures in this urban environment. The filmmakers traveled to Tribeca every day from the South Bronx, Harlem, Bushwick, Jackson Heights, and other locations, bringing with them their cultures and communities. They came together to tell stories that were true to who they are and to broaden perspectives across the city.
This was the second partnership of The Times Square Advertising Coalition (TSAC) and Times Square Arts with the Tribeca Film Institute®, and was held in conjunction with the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival® (April 16-27).
Contributors to this film were: Grace McLeod, Francisco Perez, David Woon, Senetchut Floyd, Stefanos Tai, Johnny Bauers, Kevin Fermoselle, Graciela Rodriguez, and Jonathan Hiraldo. The full film was shown during the "Our City, My Story" screening hosted by the Tribeca Film Institute® on April 24th at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center.
