James Hunter at Times Square
Type: Music & Concerts
In the early '90s, Van Morrison was standing at a London newsstand when a fan approached and began regaling him about this great unknown R&B singer he'd heard. The singer's name was James Hunter. Morrison went to hear Hunter at a gig in Wales and subsequently hired him as a backup singer for several years of touring and recording. Hunter appeared on Morrison's live album A Night in San Francisco (1994) and on the studio set Days Like This (1995). Hunter's first solo album, Believe What I Say (1996), also featured a guest spot by Morrison. Things were looking up for this Colchester native.
